The Assessment Process Simplified
Assessment is designed to measure a learner's ability to convert specific inputs
into outcomes - in other words practically apply what has been learned.
Assessment is done against registered unit standards and takes place on
course (formative), and/or after the course (summative). Once Learners have
completed an assessment by a registered Assessor, the Assessor's decision goes
through a quality control process ending at the relevant Sector Education
Training Authority (SETA).
Delegates found Competent against the unit standard being measured are
certified Certified as Competent against that specific unit standard.
Delegates found Not Yet Competent can be afforded the opportunity to be
reassessed once they have had suffucient time to internalise the required skills
levels.
Delegates who are aggrieved by the Assessors decision may follow an official Appeals Procedure.
